(New Brunswick, NJ) – Omega Phi Chi Multicultural Sorority is pleased to announce Chi Chapter at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).

The National Board of Directors of Omega Phi Chi Multicultural Sorority, Incorporated welcomes our 22nd chapter founded at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in New Jersey. Five women were initiated as the Founding Sister Class. The Founding New Member Class includes: 1. Jacqueline “Velum” Moreno (Mexican), 2. Lucero “Invictus” Arevalo (Peruvian), 3. Stephanie “Tanimous” De Jesus (Dominican), 4. Sreya “Armis” Mukherjee (Indian), 5. Sally “Elux” Furcal (Dominican).

Located in the University Heights district of downtown Newark, NJIT is one of the nation’s top polytechnic STEM schools highly regarded for its affordability and post graduate high wage earning potential.

For over one year, the interest group worked towards achieving colonization status as well as developing their professional and leadership skillsets. The Omegas of Chi Chapter will be working collaboratively on building a solid foundation and setting a positive example as prominent young women leaders within the newly formulated Multicultural Greek Council and the campus community. These goals will be accomplished through unique programming based off Omega Phi Chi Multicultural Sorority’s core values of promoting diversity, serving immediate and surrounding communities, and academic excellence.

Omega Phi Chi would like to thank the five founding sisters for their hard work; Soror Carla Pires, Nu Chapter President, for educating the class; Natalia Tapia, National Director of Expansion; Omega Phi Chi’s National Board of Directors for facilitating the process; Allen White, Associate Director for Fraternity & Sorority Life at New Jersey Institute of Technology for assistance in expanding our organization; Nu Chapter for assistance in spearheading recruitment initiatives.

Please join us in welcoming our newest Sophisticated Sisters to Greek Life.
