Alumnae Board Overview

The Alumnae Board of Directors are the governing body that run the Alumnae Association. They are strategic in providing resources, networking opportunities, and access to alumnae and professional sisters throughout the organization.

Leigh Darden

Alumnae Executive Director

Leigh Darden was initiated into Omega Phi Chi's Extreme Eta Chapter at Ramapo College in Spring 2002 as the #4 of her class. Leigh earned a Bachelor of Arts in Literature and completed the Teacher Education program. 

 

During her tenure with the organization, Leigh has held many positions. As an undergraduate, Leigh held the positions of vice president, fundraiser, sunshine, and public relations. As an alumnae. she has served as a New Member Educator, supported undergraduate chapters through attending or supporting events, worked on a revival committee with the Expansion officer, held the Alumnae Association position of South Jersey Regional Chair, and currently serves as the Executive Director of the Alumnae Association. 

 

When she's not in Omegaland, Leigh's day job is teaching ELA at a middle school in Plainfield, NJ, where she also runs the Writing Club. Leigh is a lifelong lover of literature. Specifically, she loves reading magical realism. Leigh also loves scary movies and cooking, and she recently learned that she enjoys camping.

Alexus Crespo

Alumnae Assistant Executive Director

Alexus Rosalia Crespo was initiated into Omega Phi Chi's Almighty Alpha Chapter in the Spring of 2021. Alexus currently holds a Bachelors of Science in Ecology, Evolution and Natural Resources, with a minor in Marine Sciences from Rutgers University--New Brunswick. 

 

While she currently holds the position of Alumnae Assistant Executive Director, Alexus have previously held positions within Alpha Chapter including President, Dean of Recruitment, and Fundraising Chair. 

 

Outside of Omega Phi Chi, Alexus is currently a science teacher at the Academy of Saint Elizabeth; an all girls catholic high school. In her free time, she enjoys going on hikes, watching thriller movies and reading horror novels.

Shaquilla Scott

Alumnae Director of Treasury

Shaquilla "Metro" Scott was initiated into the sOPhistiCated Sigma Chapter of Omega Phi Chi Sorority, Inc. in Spring 2014. Shaquilla earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from SUNY Buffalo State College and has remained actively involved with the organization ever since. 

 

Throughout her OPC journey, Shaquilla has served as Treasurer, President, and New Member Educator at the undergraduate level, and continues her service as an active alumnae member and Director of Treasury. Professionally, Shaquilla works as an Administrative Coordinator in the University at Albany's Technology Transfer Office, where she supports initiatives that advance research and innovation. 

 

Outside of work and service, Shaquilla enjoys traveling, exploring new places, engaging in creative hands-on activities, listening to music, and making meaningful memories with friends and family. One of Shaquilla's biggest personal goals is to become 100% debt-free by her 33rd birthday, and looking ahead, she hopes to continue growing both professionally and personally while expanding her leadership impact, exploring new opportunities, and inspiring others through service and lifelong learning.

Amy Gandia

Alumnae Director of Communications

Amy Elizabeth Gandia was initiated at Omega Phi Chi's Majestic Mu Chapter at Montclair State University Spring 2024, the #2 of 2 of her class. 

​

Amy is a recent Montclair alum, graduating in May 2026 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health. Throughout her time as an undergrad, Amy held the following positions: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Academic Dean. #IamABusyPanther! Amy currently works at RWJ Barnabas Health as a Social Worker where she helps individuals facing complex hardships to help find them resources and long term prevention care. 

 

Outside of work, Amy spends her free time experiencing the world, trying new foods, and getting comfortable with the uncomfortable (Amy loves trying anything for the first time). Amy also loves reading thriller and documentary books.

Audrey Vargas-Cruz

Alumnae Director of Public Relations

Audrey Vargas-Cruz was initiated into Omega Phi Chi's Majestic Mu Chapter at Montclair State University in Spring 2020, the #4 of 4 of her class. 

​

Audrey recently graduated in May 2023 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and Media Studies with a minor in Criminal Justice. Throughout her time as an undergrad, Audrey held the Assistant Public Relations Chair. As an alumna, Audrey has been Assistant New Member Educator (Spring 2024), New Member Educator (Spring 2025), and Pink Reign’s team member and Media Director (2024 - 2026).

​

Audrey currently works within the Marketing and Digital Media field. Audrey owns her own Marketing and Digital Media business called “Living Vision Studios”; she enjoys telling a story and helping the visions of other turn into reality. Audrey loves bridging the gap and assisting different organizations, businesses, and communities elevate through awareness. Outside of work, Audrey spends her free time traveling the world, singing, dancing, spending time with friends and family, or in her own cocoon for some me-time.

Natalia Andeliz

Alumnae Director of Leadership
& Programming

Natalia Andeliz was initiated into Omega Phi Chi's Theta Chapter at Kean University in Fall 2023 as a Solo Ace.

 

Natalia's journey in Omega Phi Chi includes serving in leadership roles: Natalia was Public Relations, Vice President, and Treasurer. Currently, Natalia is currently pursuing a Global Business Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in Digital Marketing at Kean University, set to graduate in 2025. Professionally, Natalia works in Company Success within Corporate America, ensuring both the company and its employees thrive by connecting them with essential resources and organizing meaningful, extravagant events.

 

Outside of work and academics, Natalia is proudly Dominican, a passionate traveler who has explored 15 countries, and a devoted dog lover. Natalia currently resides in South Jersey, where she balances her career with her love for her family, Fiancee, and her sisters!

Brina Olunkwa

Regional Chair, DMV/Maryland

Brina Olunkwa was initiated into Omega Phi Chi's Tau Chapter at Hoftstra University in Fall 2016.

 

Brina served as President, Vice President, and Secretary during her undergraduate experience. As a native Marylander, Brina has deep-rooted knowledge of and love for the area and its communities. Brina has vast knowledge about local gathering spaces which allows her the ability to create memorable and exciting experiences for sisters who live locally or are visiting the area.

 

In her career as a coordinator, Brina spends time organizing events and presentations that are tailored to audiences with various demographics and needs, and she hopes to translate this knowledge and experience to the Regional Chair position.
