A Message of Gratitude and Transition

Serving as President has been one of the greatest honors of my membership. I accepted this role with full intention to complete the term and with deep respect for the legacy entrusted to us. Leadership is stewardship, and my commitment has always been to protect what was built before us while preparing it for the future. After thoughtful consideration due to personal reasons, I have officially transitioned out of this position earlier than anticipated.

Our organization was built on principle, unity, and accountability... and its future depends on our willingness to uphold those values consistently. I am proud of what we have built together, what we have survived together, what we have chosen to protect together, and anchoring ourselves in purpose.

As we move forward, I encourage each of us to remain grounded in our principles, unified in purpose, and intentional in how we uphold SISTERHOOD. Our legacy is sustained not by titles, but by the daily choices we make to protect and honor one another.

It has been a privilege to serve. I remain grateful for your trust and confident in the future ahead.

OLNA2,

Kaitlyn Lopez

Letter from the Interim President

It is with immense pride, gratitude, and humility that I write to you as the Interim President of Omega Phi Chi Multicultural Sorority, Inc. Being entrusted with this role is not something I take lightly. This organization shaped me, strengthened me, and continues to refine me as a leader, sister, and woman. To now serve in this capacity is both a full-circle moment and a profound responsibility.

Since 2023, I have had the honor of serving on the National Board of Directors, first as the National Public Relations Director – Undergrad Focus, then as the National Vice President, and now as the Interim President. Each role has expanded my understanding of our operations, strengthened my strategic perspective, and deepened my commitment to our organization's sustainability. Serving at the national level has required vision, collaboration, accountability, and a dedication to protecting both our culture and our standards.

A little about me: I was initiated in Spring 2019 as #2 of 2 at the almighty Alpha Chapter at Rutgers University–New Brunswick. From the very beginning, I understood that Omega Phi Chi was more than letters; it was legacy, resilience, and purpose. As a proud Latina woman, half Puerto Rican and half Cuban, sisterhood rooted in multiculturalism and representation has always been deeply personal to me. This organization affirmed my identity and reminded me that from the seeds of diversity grows the true meaning of sisterhood. Professionally, I work in higher education as a college professor and a practicing licensed therapist. My work centers on mentorship, advocacy, mental wellness, and empowering individuals to recognize their strengths. These roles have reinforced my belief that leadership must balance empathy with structure and vision with accountability, values that directly align with our mission as a sisterhood.

I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Kaitlyn Lopez for her outstanding leadership and dedication as President. Her commitment and steady guidance have made a meaningful impact on our organization, and I sincerely hope to build upon the foundation she has established. I accepted this role because I believe in the power of our sisterhood and the responsibility we carry to protect and strengthen it for generations to come. Transitions require grace, adaptability, and collective commitment, and I am confident in our ability to navigate this season together.

I am committed to leading with transparency, fostering open communication, and ensuring that every chapter feels supported, heard, and aligned with our national vision. I encourage each of you to remain engaged, uphold our standards, and continue investing in the sisterhood we have all worked so hard to build. Leadership is not about position; it is about service. It is about protecting our legacy while positioning Omega Phi Chi for continued growth and excellence. Omega Phi Chi has always been about growth: personal, collective, and generational. Many enter the jungle, but few lead it. I am honored to lead alongside you as we continue to empower and elevate, better together.

With sisterhood and strength,
Katherine "Kat" Granja

Interim President
