Brand Yourself: The Basics

In this Omega Weekend workshop Perla Hoyos will be covering the art of Branding Yourself – how to figure out your story and share it on and off-line! She will also speak about how your brand can be identified and developed. 

The concept of “personal branding” is an idea and practice that has exploded over the last few years, particularly with the vast enhancements and exposure that comes with social media. In today’s competitive job market, those who know and share their brand best are the ones that are recognized and remembered.

About the speaker
Perla Hoyos received her Bachelor’s from Montclair State University and her Master’s from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She began her career as an intern for Billboard Magazine and MTV Networks. After interning, she launched her career at Sony Music Entertainment and worked her way up the ranks to the lead role for their internship program. There she was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the program and was also the direct contact for colleges and universities across the U.S.

After 6 years with Sony Music, she decided to make a move and landed a role with NBCUniversal as their Lead Recruiter on their campus team. A year after joining NBCUniversal, she was given the opportunity to leave the campus world and join Nielsen where she would focus on full cycle recruiting. Nielsen is a global performance management company that provides a comprehensive understanding of what consumers Watch and Buy.

Perla currently recruits entry level candidates all the way to Senior Vice President level candidates all over the U.S. for the Watch side of the business. Nielsen’s Watch segment provides media and advertising clients with Total Audience measurement services across all devises where content, video, audio, and text is consumed.
