Bettyna Julien
As someone who grew up without a mentor, an individual to provide guidance and support, Bettyna could have just as easily never attended college since no one was pointing her in that direction. Using the inspiration she found in writing poetry, Bettyna motivated herself to pursue college with the help of a supportive family that believed in her. A recent graduate of Rider University, Bettyna realizes that many urban youth might find themselves in similar situations with much less support and guidance. As a result, Bettyna dedicates herself to mentoring urban students in middle and high school. She feels her connection to an urban upbringing provides her with the ability to communicate hope as an example of someone who was fortunate enough to achieve her dreams.

Bettyna's dedication to her community translates to the sisterhood. What she values most about the sisterhood is the loyalty sisters feel toward one another and the support offered at all levels regardless of the situation. As Bettyna offers help to students who aren't in the best environment, the sisterhood is always present.

Bettyna Julien graduated from Rider University with a degree in Human Resources Management and Multicultural Studies.
