Community Service

Community Service is one of Omega Phi Chi’s main objectives, and is the perfect opportunity to contribute to the community and change lives. We make an effort to participate in community service across many boundaries and are open to collaborating with various organizations to make a difference in our neighborhoods. We participate in a number of community service programs, some of which include:

  • Annual Toy Drive to contribute Christmas gifts to less privileged children
  • Light the Night
  • Fundraise for The Children’s Hospital for kids with Blood Disorders
  • Shelter Our Sisters/Strengthen Our Sisters
  • Breast Cancer Walk
  • MS walk
  • Aids Walk
  • JDRF Walk
  • Broadway House
  • Dance Marathon
  • Elijah’s Soup Kitchen
  • Feeding the Homeless at First Institutional Baptist Church
  • Feeding the Hungry at St. Paul's Episcopal Church
  • And More!
The entire sorority also participates in a bi-annual Lunch Bag Project, in which each of our chapters donate food or supplies to make lunches together and to distribute in inner cities.

Philanthropy

Because we are a non-profit organization, each entity of our organization has a chief philanthropy in which they donate money to at the end of the year.

Our national philanthropy and foundation is Omega Phi Chi Community Advocates Responsible for Educating and Serving (OPC C.A.R.E.S). Efforts in support of this philanthropy are organized by the National Governing Board Executive Board. The philanthropy of the Alumni Association supports Breast Cancer Awareness. Some of chapter philanthropies include:

  • The Fight Against Battered Women and Children
  • Children & Aids Awareness
  • The Fight Against Human Trafficking
  • St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
  • Make A Wish Foundation
