Omega Phi Chi Sorority, Inc. is committed to helping others and making differences throughout communities

Our National Board supports and promotes philanthropic endeavors of all kinds through out the year through our National Philanthropy Omega Phi Chi Community Advocates Responsible for Educating and Serving (OPC C.A.R.E.S). OPC C.A.R.E.S. aims to promote compassion, improve communities, and take advantage of education opportunities in which we can strengthen both our organization and the communities in which we reside.

For Omega Phi Chi, multicultural means more than just acceptance, it means acting on our diversity, it is a state of mind where we think beyond our limitations and borders.

The term multicultural for many organizations is often used to denote acceptance of all diverse cultures. Our sisters operate under the knowledge that we are part of a world bigger than our individual selves and that every action we take has an impact on that world at large. While we work with underserved populations in our respective communities, we also make an effort to make a difference at a global level.

Omega Phi Chi Sorority, Inc. Multicultural is one of the founding organizations of the council

The National Multicultural Greek Council (NMGC) is an umbrella council for a coalition of Multicultural Greek-letter organizations (MGLOs) established in 1998. The purpose of NMGC is to provide a forum that allows for the free exchange of ideas, programs, and services between its constituent fraternities and sororities; to promote the awareness of multicultural diversity within collegiate institutions, their surrounding communities, and the greater community-at-large, and to support and promote the works of its member organizations.

As an organization founded on diversity, we thrive on a solid base of multicultural understanding and awareness that includes distinctions across race, class, and sexuality.

The sisterhood cultivates high levels of openness, acceptance, and collaboration with individuals and organizations as well as promoting cultural sensitivity by educating our respective communities about living in a varied society. Diversity is a core component of Omega Phi Chi as a multicultural sorority that was established by eight women of Asian, African-American, and Latina descent. Our Founding Mothers passed on a tradition of building understanding and acceptance across all cultural distinctions and levels of difference. In founding a multicultural sorority, they acknowledged the need to respect and celebrate our cultural differences while appreciating the common bonds we share as women.
